Moonshine Hot Toddy: A Medicinal Recipe For The Soul

With National Hot Toddy Day on January 11 and cold and flu season in full swing, there is no better time than the present to introduce one of our favorite winter beverages: the hot toddy.

Although the origin of the hot toddy is unknown — some believe the cocktail dates back to the 1600s in India while others say it originated in Scotland in the 1800s — we do know one thing: its “healing” powers have been battling seasonal colds across the globe for centuries.

Next time you’re feeling under the weather, use this recipe to mix up a delicious moonshine hot toddy that is sure to soothe your sore throat and ease bothersome cold symptoms.

Ingredients:

• Hot water

• Cinnamon Apple Spice herbal tea

• Apple pie moonshine

• 1 quarter of an orange or lemon

• Honey

Directions:

Fill a mug slightly over half-full with hot water. Add the tea bag, the juice of the orange or lemon, honey, and moonshine as desired. Let the tea bag steep for 3-5 minutes. Stir and enjoy.
